Who we are

We begin with a question: how might participating in the energy transition be made more accessible, meaningful and joyful?

Most aspects of our energy systems remain technical and largely invisible as background infrastructure. DELOCA brings the rhythms of renewable energy, live carbon-intensity information and the everyday act of charging appliances and devices to the fore through small, joyful experiences of everyday life. It does so by bringing together design, portable energy, charging experience, digital participation and local commerce as a way to build new relationships between low-carbon electricity, everyday life and more connected neighbourhoods and local communities.

The DELOCA platform and the Hearth are being developed in Sydney by Delectro Pty Ltd through design research, prototyping and collaboration with energy, technology, community and business partners.
